With over 3000 projects to choose from in more than 100 countries around the world, Volunteers For Peace has a project just right for everyone. Participants can volunteer with kids, teach English, restore the environment, assist with social projects such as HIV/AIDS awareness, and more!
We offer the most affordable way to travel and see the world. Our registration fee is always $350, regardless of the length of the program. This covers food, accommodation and work materials for the duration of your project. Volunteers pay for and arrange their own transportation and some projects require additional fees payable on arrival.
VFP is part of the worldwide International Voluntary Service movement. When participating in a project you can expect intercultural immersion and the joy of working together to meet one of the many challenges facing our planet. You will change and improve lives in a tangible way!
We are a member supported organization! In 2011 our members participated in over 515 international voluntary service projects and donated over 42,500 hours of their time to communities around the world.
Each year VFP organizes 40-60 projects in the US. Our programs infuse local organizations with energy and assistance. In 2011 volunteers in our US projects contributed 22,000 hours of service to non profits, parks and recreation departments, and local communities!
Our 2-3 week volunteer projects provide participants with the opportunity to experience international voluntary service on a small scale before they join larger organizations such as the Peace Corp. They are short enough to complete during a vacation and multiple camps can be arranged for those who want to travel longer.
